If you're experiencing battery issues with your modded Game Boy Advance, you're not alone. Here's how to resolve the most common problems.
Common Battery Issues:
Battery won’t charge
Console won’t power on
Battery doesn’t fit in the shell
Quick battery drain
DOA (Dead on Arrival) battery
1. Installing the Battery Correctly
Make sure you're using the correct battery for your GBA mod kit.
Align the battery terminals properly.
The red (positive) and black (negative) wires must connect to the correct points.
Secure the battery with foam or tape if needed.
2. Battery Not Charging
Try using a different USB-C or micro USB cable.
Plug into a standard wall charger, not a computer USB port.
Look for an LED charging indicator on the board.
Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position during charging.
3. Console Not Powering On
Double-check your power switch wiring.
Test the system with AA batteries if your board supports it.
Make sure the screen ribbon is properly seated.
4. Battery Drains Too Quickly
IPS screen kits and amplifiers increase power draw. Battery life may be shorter.
Consider upgrading to a higher-capacity battery.
5. Dead Battery or Warranty Claim
Test voltage with a multimeter (should read around 3.7V when charged).
If dead out of the box, contact us for a replacement.
