Using a 'traditional backlight' and bivert module used the be the only way to illuminate the display of the Game Boy DMG without using an external light. With other mods on the market, it's simply not done as much these days.
Note
- Resistors built in for all backlights except RGB. Please skip the step in the install video that refers to adding a resistor as it is no longer necessary.
- Do not use cleaning agents such as alcohol - see this example.
- Install your backlight at a 5V source to keep your screen bright and avoid audio board interference.
